My Experience.
12 years on Amazon, this is how it went...
2009 - Startup Vibes
Started with £200 cash, did some retail arbitrage & wholesale fashion accessories on Amazon & eBay
2011 - Private Label & FBA
Registered my first brand with IPO & Amazon brand registry. Started Private Label & Amazon FBA. Moved into warehouse facilities from the loft.
2012 - Amazon Vendor Supplier
Amazon got in touch wanting to stock my branded products, increased production & setup a whole Vendor Central operation. Husband joined the business full time.
2013 - Hit First Million £
Busy year, grew team members, new storage distribution & shipping facilities, reached new milestones & had a baby :)
2015 - Product Development
Developed & launched new designs, new product ranges, brands & website sales channels.
2017 - Marketing & Advertising
Worked with Marketing & Brand agencies to develop the brand off Amazon through social channels. Experimented a lot. Second Baby arrived :)
2020 - Year of Pivots
Launched 2 new brands on Amazon, started a YouTube channel & Amazon Business Consultancy.

About Me.
I have been a professional business seller on Amazon for the past 12 years in Fashion, the fastest growing category on Amazon.

I started when I was 22 years old, with £200 investment from my husband! He was taking his business online to Amazon trying to build another income stream for his phone accessories business and I decided to try this Amazon thing too. I started with doing retail arbitrage & some wholesale products in fashion, it grew at a steady pace. About 2 years in to my business, I found my first winning product..(We didn't have Jungle Scout or Helium10 to help find perfect product in those days!). Long story short, that product was popping in Amazon data and they invited me to become a Vendor. For months I kept ignoring the email, I thought it was a scam lol. That's when my business really blew up as I started getting huge orders from Amazon. I couldn't keep up with them. One my brands SWANKYSWANS has been stocked with Amazon since 2012 and is still going strong as it has consistently stayed relevant in terms of product offer & rankings in Amazon search algorithm. Being a Vendor to Amazon for the past 8 years has given me unique insight into dealing with a global retailer where you will be dealing with different buyers every year or season..depending on the performance of the vendor & the buyer! Nobody is safe :) There are performance metrics that are to be met or you will be lowered to an automated system or worse Amazon will just stop the business.
